The Weekend News, later called as ABS-CBN Weekend News, was an English language weekend newscast and later the first Filipino language weekend newscast of the network  aired every Saturday-Sunday 10:00-11:00PM aired and produced by ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs from July 1, 1995-present. When the newscast first aired in July 1, 1995 as The Weekend News, it first used English as its primary language. The newscast switched to Filipino on August 21, 1999 making as the first Filipino-language weekend newscast on the network after The World Tonight ended on ABS-CBN and The Weekend News made its final English broadcast on August 15, 1999 just before switching to Filipino due to low ratings on English late-night newscasts and The World Tonight eventually moved to ABS-CBN News Channel two months later. It was relaunched as ABS-CBN Weekend News in March 17 2001-present
