With the new beginning of School Year 2021-2022, teen actress and singer Angelina Cruz, the eldest daughter of TV actress Sunshine Cruz and her ex-husband actor and action star Cesar Montano, will take the academic center stage for a lesson-filled treat on the Kaibigan network's weekend top-rating and award-winning primetime curriculum-based sitcom “Iskul Bukol” this Saturday (September 11) as the special guest for 3 special episodes with a lesson-filled Oplan Balik Eskwela episode before the opening of classes in preparation for her 20th birthday.

Angelina, usually spent her after-school hours with her parents, focused on her studies and will be a 'new normal' academic collaboration and a good friend with the one and only Comedy Princess, Ms. Joyce Abestano, who plays as Joyce Escalera as a high school classmate of Diliman High School, in a very special episode of “Iskul Bukol,” under the production of IBC 13's entertainment division and the Department of Education (DepEd), which airs every Saturday night under the leadership of Hexilon G. Alvarez, who appointed as the network's new President and CEO. It also includes DepEd TV, the most popular educational TV channel in the country with the regular broadcasting of educational TV programs every weekday morning and afternoon on state-run IBC 13 and IBC Plus 47 via analog, and its digital sub-channel every Monday to Saturday (7:00AM-7:00PM via IBC Digibox), with live streaming on IBC's Facebook and YouTube page; plus the first and only curriculum-based educational comedy/gag show "Totally Angelica," top-billed by Angelica Marañon, which airs before the sitcom also every Saturday night.
With the introduction of COVID-19 vaccination for teachers and even students before the resumption of limited face-to-face classes, Alvarez’s vision for IBC is making the educational materials to be more accessible and exciting for the Filipino youth as a K to 12 project.
With the much-anticipated School Year 2021-2022 on Monday, September 13 (Monday - National School Opening Day Program) with the beginning of classes for public schools in the Philippines, this will mark the Oplan Balik Eskwela episode under the theme “Kalidad ng Edukasyon Lalong Patataginsa Gitna ng Pandemya” (Strengthening Quality Education Amid COVID-19 Pandemic) wherein classmates of Diliman High School were studied. This Saturday, Angelina will play the role of a high school classmate of Diliman High School who claims that she is Joyce (Joyce Abestano) and Patrick (Patrick Destura)’s friend.
“It has been a while since I tried my lesson in sitcom. I really appreciate the warm welcome of the Iskul Bukol family and enjoyed my guesting so much,” said Angelina, who is taking up Marketing Management at De La Salle University via distance learning (online classes and self-learning modules).
This month, her mother took to social media to congratulate Angelina for her academic achievement since she started my career as a singer while she has been busy working on her music and taping. Angelina has been more than three years since she released her self-titled debut album and her acting projects when she made her small screen.
Angelina, who might be recalling as a high school student before college course as a freshman, shared on Instagram that she re-enrolled in Diliman High School (with DepEd permit) for this three special episodes as a special guest star for making her acting role in the sitcom. Her followers were happy to see her back in school even if it’s an online course and her time for work and studies.

On “Iskul Bukol” this Saturday via hashtag #IBOplanBalikEskwelangKwela for an upcoming back-to-school episode and in preparation for Angelina's intimate birthday celebration as she turned 20, Angelina Salvador (Cruz) will introduce herself as Joyce and Patrick's classmate and good friends. During the Oplan Balik Eskwela 2021 (OBE) ("Bayanihan Para sa Ligtas na Balik Eskwela") para sa back-to-school season before the start of opening classes.

JUST IN: Angelina Cruz is the special guest student of Diliman High School (with DepEd permit) for three episodes of Iskul Bukol, IBC 13’s weekend top-rating primetime show starring Joyce Abestano, focused on the lives of the cute and sassy high school student Joyce Escalera (Abestano) in Diliman High School, which is designed to underscore the positioning of IBC 13 as “your connection to education,” as part of the network’s thrust to improve the quality of education for our Filipino learners amidst the pandemic and support for the upcoming school year, which is open to teachers and junior-senior high school students, according to IBC President and CEO Hexilon Alvarez at IBC 13's office in Capitol Hills, Quezon City.
A recording artist, Angelina is Sunshine’s daughter with her ex-husband, actor Cesar Montano.
She is currently taking up and studying in the Marketing Management at the De La Salle University in Manila via distance learning.
For three episodes in preparation for School Year 2021-2022 and for 20th birthday, Angelina recalled that she was a high school student and she's at Diliman High School with Joyce Escalera and Patrick Loyzaga (Patrick Destura). She's getting a chance to meet Joyce Escalera at the classroom of Diliman High School, where students and teachers must wears face masks and face shields, while using these sanitizers/alcohols.
With its purpose to help the educational needs of millions of Filipino children and youth from both public and private educational institutions in these grade levels amid the COVID-19 pandemic, both DepEd TV, Totally Angelica and Iskul Bukol are under the basic level of formal education system for distance learning.
