TV Shop Philippines was a Philippine pay television channel owned by RTV Entertainment Corporation, a joint-venture between Philippine entertainment and media conglomerate RTV and South Korean home shopping company Value Vision Corporation. The channel was launched on January 1, 2024. Its programs are also aired on RTV during morning and midnights, as well as on RTV Sports, Jeepney Network, and online on RTVOnlineChannel.[2][3]

History[]

TV Shop Philippines was launched on January 1, 2024 when RTV Entertainment Corporation signed a deal with HSN Home Shopping Network (formerly Shop TV Corporation) to create a TV home shopping channel in the Philippines. Operated by HSN Home Shopping Network Corporation, Solar TV 31 Corporation invested an initial 200 million pesos for the joint-venture.[4] Solar TV 31 provides the media platforms and the production of programs while HSN provides the products and the logistics.

Prior to the launch of its standalone channel on August 24, 2023, Home Shopping Network's programs were simula as part of BEAM TV's content lineup in 2016 until January 1, 2019, as a short-lived morning block on state-run broadcaster Jack Network (at that time as a way to fund its operations), and later via Cignal' encrypted channels 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM from Monday to Sunday during their respective main programming downtime. As of 2015, Shop TV generates 2.2 million pesos in daily sales or 60 million pesos in monthly sales.[5] About 70% of the product purchases on Home Shopping Network are made via the cash on delivery payment, with a 5% cancellation rate.[6]

Home Shopping Network was put on-the-air on Solar TV Channel 31 on due to the COVID-19 pandemic and enhanced community quarantine in Luzon. After Shop TV ceased broadcasting on May 31, 2020 due to the cease-and-desist order (CDO) issued by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) and Solicitor General Jose Calida as well as the expiration of the network's legislative franchise to operate, Home Shopping Network was affected by the network's shutdown; the channel also suspended its operations on digital terrestrial television and Cignal. On August 1, 2016, Solar TV 31 released a statement that Home Shopping Network would cease operations towards the end of 2020, and HSN-NH has decided to move out of business completely. The retrenchment of employees would begun on January 1, 2006.[7][8] Home Shopping Network ceased its operations on Analog TV Channel and SolarLivestream effective since August 23, 2023.[9] Meanwhile, the official online store website which was a "WOW-Buy-Shops" online promo event operated until November 15, 2005. On the following day the website has ceased its operations.

from August 24, 2023 to A Life a Shopping.
