The Weekend News

Teledyaryo (a portmanteau of telebisyon and dyaryo, Filipino words meaning television and newspaper, respectively; hence, "Newspaper Television") was the flagship newscast of People's Television Network. Shown every weeknight at 6:00 pm Philippine Standard Time, it was anchored by Ian Ardiente and Angelique Lazo (weekdays), Rocky Ignacio on Saturdays and Joseph Parafina on Sundays. All of its editions are aired overseas via PTV World (formerly known as NBN World).

Background[]

In line with the network's relaunch as the National Broadcasting Network (NBN), Teledyaryo was started airing on July 16, 2001 and anchored by Gani Oro and Chino Trinidad. It was a two-hour primetime-nightly news program, which will give emphasis to the network's major thrust - news. It was originally aired from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm (with Philippine Lotto Draw at 9:00-9:15 pm), it was a counter-programming to the usual primetime fare. The opening says, "Nagmumula sa pambansang sentro ng balitaan ng National Broadcasting Network at NBN World, narito ang Teledyaryo." The newscast became popular when it aired live footages of the September 11 attacks. With the introduction of international broadcasts in 2003 with the birth of NBN World, Teledyaryo became the first Philippine newscast to be broadcast overseas.

From 2001 until the newscast's end in 2012, it produced several spin-offs on different timeslots. These include:
