The Weekend News was an Tagalog language weekend newscast and later the first Filipino language weekend newscast of ABS-CBN aired every Saturday to Sundays 10:00am to 11:30am aired and produced by ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs from January 4, 1992-present. It was replaced by three newly-revamped newscasts.Dateline Philippines (weekdays).TV Patrol-Weekend (primetime) and The World Tonight-Weekend (late-night) which was happened few days after the rebranding of the channel on April 16, 2017-present

Weekend Edition on ABS-CBNEdit

When the newscast first aired in January 4, 1992-present as The Weekend News replacing the weekend edition of The Saturday Report and The Sunday Report it first used English as its primary language The Weekend News switched to Filipino on August 21,1999-present making as the first Filipino-language weekend newscast on the network after The World Tonight late-night timeslot on ABS-CBN and The Weekend News made its final English broadcast on August 15, 1999 two days after Dateline Philippines ending due to low ratings on English noontime newscasts. The Weekend News was relaunched as ABS-CBN Weekend News on March 17, 2001-present It airs from 10:00am to 11:30am Saturday to Sundays before It's Showtime (Saturday edition) and ASAP (Sunday edition) it also the first Filipino newscast to do stand-up news delivery for four anchors and completely report in Filipino language This was ABS-CBN's third and returning timeslot which is all the weekend newscasts at the time.
